The goal of OIC is to successfully train the unemployed and the underemployed so each student will obtain a valuable educational experience of the highest quality. Each student is readily prepared for employment in the business community. OIC focuses on preparing men and women to become productive and independent citizens. Our goal is to instill pride in oneself and provide training for all who want to help themselves. Who We Are. . . OIC of New London County is a private, non-profit organization incorporated in 1970. Our program is open to serve individuals in need of job training. OIC's philosophy of self-help and its unique system of developing the whole person enables individuals to become self-sufficient, productive workers in various employment settings. What We Do . . . OIC operates skill-building classes and certificate programs throughout the year. These programs offer individualized classroom instruction and informational workshops on various topics of interest. Directions to OIC From I 95 North Take exit 83 (Downtown New London) onto Huntington Street. Proceed straight to stop sign. Right turn onto Jay Street to first traffic light. Right turn at traffic light onto Hempstead Street. Left from Hempstead Street into the OIC parking lot. From I-95 South Take exit 84S (Downtown New London). Proceed straight to Eugene O'Neill Drive and through downtown to Tilley Street. Turn right onto Tilley Street and drive one block to Washington Street.
