Construction
Congress created Occupational Safety and Health Administration to assure safe and healthful conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and providing training, outreach, education and compliance assistance. Under the OSHA law, employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful workplace for their employees.
Students will be able to obtain their OSHA-10 certification which focuses on workplace safety. This course is designed for individuals interested in working primarily on construction sites or other areas that require the OSHA-10 certification. Ten courses are offered throughout the year and operate on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Currently, OIC of New London County, Incorporated is seeking support to build a construction laboratory on-site to provide students with an
introduction to painting, tiling, electrical, and plumbing.
